It was a rough few days before sdcc, and i broke about 6 machine needles (a new record!) but it was done--or at least passable for the time being. There are a few details i need to go back and fix on the jacket, and finish Rana's bootcovers, but more or less she is done. fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net…

I was going to write more but...i fell asleep as i was writing this. So, eventually there will be more updates and improvements on the costume. But again, i wanted to take everyone who donated, watched my progress, went to Rana's booth, or just cheered me on. Thank you!

I'm in the home stretch, everything is cut out and ready for the final stitching. Rana will be wearing Morinth on Saturday and Sunday, and only at a certain time/location. From her FB page:

As promised, I am uploading images as I go. The weekend was great, and Rana helped cut out all the belt straps, which I believe came down to 46 belts? Tomorrow she does final fitting for the bodysuit, and I can feel the outer parts nearing completion...

I have less than a week to finish, but I wanted to hop on and upload some photos. Rana came by today and test fit the suit--and it fits perfectly! I just need to do some trim detail work and insert the zipper and sleeves, and the undersuit is done. Then, tomorrow is millions of belts day...

I intended to write this earlier, but work has been busy, along with moving to a new place.
I met with Rana mid-June to try on mock-ups. Some fixes need to be made but it isn't terrible--a lot of it was a too large, a little snug issues. Which is a relief it isn't too much of a fix. We are a little concerned with the weight of the buckles since I am using metal this time round, so we MAY eliminate more belts off of the costume. I've mentioned it before, that I will give and take on this outfit to make sure Rana is comfortable. I have about two weeks left, and I intend to spend any and all free time on the costume (and might take a day or two off from work...)

What kept me away from frequent updates was that I had my sewing room set up at another location about 25 minutes from where I live, so this and last week my roommates were a huge help and got me set up. I have a lot of room, and a cutting table which is way better than how i previously worked! It is fantastic since now I can come home from work and immediately spend time on this project.



I'll be working a lot on Morinth, but I will try my best to update more with WIP shots.
